I originally drafted this post in March during the weeks of spring training with a hope to say next year we are going, it's been 4 years too long to miss out on the fun! While I missed the Spring Training window, what better timing than to publish the week of our first White Sox game of the season with my dad. This is a very special time for us as these pictures and videos also bring back memories of a very monumental moment for my dad. Leaving a Sox game last season back in May, he fell and tore both of his quads, with an emergency surgery and intense physical therapy sessions following, he made it a goal for himself to take batting practice at the August workout on the field. Not only did he take batting practice, he had an amazing run, we were all so proud of him! While I wish I had more videos to capture our time, I am thankful for the ones we do have. My favorite moment by far is the happiness this brought him and especially love how I captured my sister, who is in orthopedics greet him after his bat and see how proud she is of her dad that he accomplished his goal! 'Be tough' is a phrase he said to all of us growing up, and we got to see him 'be tough' for all us and and our kiddos as well! Not sure about anyone else, but my kids LOVE watching videos on youtube kids, so why not make one for them. Back when I was in art school, I took a video production class which I absolutely loved. Rented the video camera through my school, produced one project that I'm so proud of but didn't do anything following.
My new camera has an HD video option that I have never used but was interested to try it out. On our LA trip I decided to take a few videos while at Disneyland of the kids enjoying their time in hopes to make a small video clip they can enjoy for years to come...and they sure do! Will definitely have to do this more often, it was so easy and fun and love how it brings that moment in time to life even more ways than a photograph can! May need to work a bit on my stabilization, but hey it's my first one in years! An eventful Saturday....started the day with dance, gymnastics, haircuts, Trolls, whew...we are tired, but never too tired for a back-walkover party! All anniversaries are so important, but this one is monumental ....we are officially married 8 years which is now longer than we dated by 1 year! Scott is so excited for our anniversary tomorrow he made me pull out the wedding video while we sip on wine, what a romantic....can you believe it? OK completely teasing, but if it wasn't for him we would never have our video! The story is we were a bit delayed in getting our video....4 years to be exact....so why not pull out on our 8th year anniversary along with some of our favorite pictures to remember our special day...can't wait to celebrate our happy ever after tomorrow! |
